441 Hearing aids March 4, 2012

I’ve been crotchety about wearing hearing aids:
Ego.
No confessing getting elderly for me.
No conceding to breaking down.
But, my eye-ear-nose-throat doctor reports
not wearing them
“…contributes to the disintegration of gray matter
and enhances the chances of the “A” word.
Ergo,
I am wearing them,
discovering what I have been missing!!
Wind in the birches, loose piston chatter,
low tones of chimes, grand daughters giggle…
the lovely dissonance of living.
It is good we never die,
rather resolve the clatter of life into
the sonorous hum of the universe,
with which we will, all, sooner or later,
harmonize,
no hearing aids required.
