Stony soil’s a better
kneeling bench
than cushion pewed cathedral
when crocus emerges,
it’s after wrestling with rock
Why praise some cosmic magician
Genesis, mere wand wave?
Rather, pray to a sweating tulip
triumphing in the sun.

Reading through the first page of poems posted in 2014, Ken – became easier after I learned to navigate WordPress. I opened an account long ago – but never used it. I particularly enjoyed this poem: “A Better Worship” – I sense that we have the garden and Thoreau-ish sensibilities in common.
