1318 HEARD IN AN ARGUMENT WITH MY MARXIST FATHER 01-09-25

…..but Father!

Art is utility in the extreme!

A smoothed, grooved, sledge-hammer handle.

Mona Lisa smiling from her Louve wall.

A Winslow Homer skiff, tacking on the waves.

All lead to well smashed cinder blocks…

concepts… say, proportion, balance… interpreted, affirmed,

stimulating inspiration and further thought…

The spark for a young child’s city-alley-bound life.

All useful contributions to the ever struggling

Ascent of Humanity with Red Flags flying from the Barrios!

That Woman, breast-naked, in the climactic heat of battle.

A Kindergarteners water-colored-garden

growing joyfully under a glowing pink sun.

Awe’s sigh, as Barishnakov’s swan-king soars above the stage!
