1284 INCONSEQUENCIALITY…. 07-21-25 (I don’t usually write politically themed poetry. I am not sure this can even be construed AS poetry. But all these big words! They’re just toooo much fun to ignore!)

……a big, eight syllable word meaning “next to nothing”. To “not matter”. To be “of no meaningful substance.” To “be unable to produce any effect on anything”. To ” only take up only the space of only what its mass requires.”

Not quite, “Nothing”…but almost.

Able to be impacted on, surely,

by gravity or an ill wind.

Else merely to float off into obscurity,

leaving only the substantiality of the meaningful

grounded by their consequentiality.

Hillary’s big blunder of 2016

was to look at

– but to not see –

the folks populating the thin strip of land

between Los Angeles and New York City

(dotted by Chicago, cactus and The Mississippi)

on the NEW YORKER MAGAZINE cover,

“A Map of America”

and, coming to the age-old Eastern Elite conclusion

about those inhabitants inconsequentiality and stupidity,

instead of recognizing them as important in their own right,

instead of believing in their potentiality,

their possibilities, their weight, their substance….

she dubbed them, “The Deplorable’s”

to which and in consequence of,

at least 51% of them rose up

and with one huge, retaliatory, extended-middle-finger, and screamed,

” Fuck You!”!!!!

And here we are, July, 2025,

in the midst of a not as yet organized,

but certainly united, world-wide, movement toward

the DE-CONSEQUENTILIZATION of an America

unable to recognize its own pending

elimination from the world-stage.

Now, think of the Dark Ages after the Fall of Rome….

I am in my 77th year.

Looks like I’ll be “else-where”

just in the nick of time!

Good luck!
