860 Our Calico Quilt (and it’s a song too!) 8-30-19

Only with you
can I piece-up a quilt
from a thousand
swatches of joy.
With prayer, love and care,
I will stitch all the stitches
in the calico rainbow
that ends on our bed.

(…in the calico rainbow
on our four-poster-bed)

Finer, by far,
than our dreams can desire,
the heft of the fabric,
near-too heavy to sew.
Yet the down-fluff’s
so heart-light
-it just might,
– breeze-blow away.

(…yes, it just might,
so hold tight!,
one night, breeze blow away.)

We will swaddle together
for our home-spun pleasure
each night when we
snuggle to rest.
Then wake, singing psalms
to a corn-silk-mist-sunrise,
to make love,
and treasure each day.

(Oh! to make love,
again and again
and treasure each day!)

It’s good. Enjoyed it — but liked the Dorian one even better! HA!
