Enough, already,
this profligate squander
of luxury!
Todays duties demand
I rise,
brush diamond star dust from my eyes,
arm myself for skirmish.
Time again, tonight,
cosseted in moonlight,
to balance the days travails
with the joy of my life,
resting,
as silver spoons,
caressing my wife.
