I had an epiphany
when my Muse sang to me,
“Don’t be a fool, my jewel!
Write a Rap!
It’s poetry!”

Oh!
Yes!

Like a sonnet!
Like a hemistich!

A poem which
owns its own emphasis,
creating it in stressed verses
and rhyme
and, in tight time,
a beat
to dance them off their feet
and theme
like “Gods dream is to redeem!”

and neither the Rappers
age
nor race
matters,
not on this stage,
not in this atmosphere!

So join together here
the adolescent
and the geriatric!
Make it a hat trick:
gay with all genders,
all races in blenders!

We’re all going places
together

or

no one’s goin’ at all.

We’re all
comin’
with us
to discuss…

Well,
whatever needs to be discussed…

Or else

it’s all too disgusting to me!
it’s all a bust!
Give me a gun, son,

a vanity under the sun.

in the Spirit,

in one kind of
one kind of
mind!

not disaffected!
Meet and greet
the unloved stranger.
Meet and greet
the long lost brother!

Learn to
love
that mother fu.k.r!
Don’t hate that damn ingrate,
that foolish dude
who claims
that Christ’s beatitudes
Christ’s benedictions,
are an indication of our
innate inability to understand
our inborn DIS-similarities.

Keep us
on the road,
on the narrow,
on the straight,
right up to the Gate!

No matter Satan’s say,
keep in mind,
at the start,
we can find,
in our heart,
the Peace
the world can neither
give nor take away!

Know the coming Glory
is no fable to disenable,
no myth to leave us
marking time beneath
earth’s dirt.

It’s our reason
to give
our brother
the shirt
off our back…

for
our abundance
to fill his lack…

for
our deeds
to quench his need
for
Holy Water.

Why else are we here?
Why do we fear?

Are we just for wanton boys
to kill us for their sport?
To pull our wings off
for slaughter
and laughter
later?

We’re here to be the cord
in the weave of the net
I believe
pulls us

home to heaven.

An eternity
for all of us
to live in harmony,
arms in arms,
singing praises,
singing psalms,
loving one another.
