622 Musing on dying 9-10-16 (see 580 for key word search)

Someday,
as far as I can tell,
all of us are
going to die.
Though not before our time.
No one dies before their time.
But, for most, before we want to.
Of course, there are those,
who, for sickness or sadness,
would rather not wait.
But I would hate
to rush it.
My five tethers,
as I call them:
my wife;
my life with her;
good work;
and its rewards;
the waiting Fathers patient smile,
these are enough to enliven me.
So, I’d rather stay a while.
(Even longer than I’m supposed to).
But that, no one gets to do.
