How came the serpent to be more crafty
than any beast in Eden?
More crafty than the only woman
in the garden, Eve, who was,
it turns out, more crafty than Adam,
according to Adam, who said,
” The woman whom Thou gave me,
to be with me, she gave me
from the tree
and I ate!”
thereby faulting Eve for
generosity
and God for
creativity,
but omitting the serpent
who was more crafty than everyone
except
the Creator,
who created the crafty serpent,
craftily,

but for what purpose?
