308 Necessity

I need to see the Spirit in the tree,
to hear the Song in the wash of the sea,
to walk to a Beat beyond my feet.
Else all is stone.
Else all is bone.
Else my death is naught but a last defeat.
For the Spirit, the Song, the Beat beyond my heart,
tie me to the Wonder of which I am a part.
Else all is stone.
Else all is bone.
Else when I die, I die alone.
