307 January optimist

Suddenly, the sun turns a winters
dark morning into a glowing blue light.
Late Januarys full moon adds
her white shine to this lovely illusion.
My first step outside for the paper,
I sense a scent of Spring
just around the long wide corner.
Yes, of course, snow is in the offing.
My snow shovels warm weather rest
is two months away, at best.
Yet, such is the nature of my heart,
and, I believe, the heart of Nature,
that joy, though premature, is joy,
never-the-less.
I can hear crocus yawning,
feel the daffodils stretch.
