210 Fertilizing Temptation

We fertilize temptation with contemplation.
The focus of our lust, we caress with thought.
Luxury of vicarious act, safe from penalty of consequence.
But, in that unexpected, shocking moment,
when the Truth confronts us that
“Whatever act we cherish in mind,
it is as though the deed were done”,
we are quick to protest our innocence,
that the slime oozing from our soul
is but earths crystalline river,
pure, as we all ought to be.
