157 at the band stand

the old couple
chair danced
while the town band
ressurected
Harry James,
trumpets blasting,
saxs sexing,
trombones sliding
in and out,
in, out,
the old couples
feet moved faster,
their hands
held tighter
with the beat.
later,
I know,
the old couple
did more than
remember.
