117 road kill difference, again

After the ultimate violation,
Nature protects her dead,
Raccoon, rabbit,possum (not playing),
letting scavenger crows peck,
soil absorb guts into itself
to fertilize seedling birch.

But in our more concrete world,
cris-crossed roads,
yellow lined,
white dotted,
carcusses, once murdered, suffer
twice, thrice, multitudes of crimes
against their remains until, by
speed, weight,time on concrete,
victums bones ignominiously
fossilized.

Milleniums hence,
archeologists note how strangely
linear
tar pits of our age were,
how strangely l o n g
the creatures caught in the flow.
