I love you because
the world is round
sound travels in waves
sun warms the sky
there is light after deaths dark night
It does not do us well
to delve too deeply into
physics querky depths.
Suffice it to say that
I love you because,
like this world, anyway,
it works and we think, anyway,
that we know why
we know it works
and that (maybe) is why enough.
Even if it’s not working
and its not working
is what we have,
like a one legged runner
who keeps hopping to victory
The victory is why enough
or the race is why enough
or a hop is why enough
so,
I love you because
a one legged runner
hoping to win by hopping
is victorious.
