8 – AS A CHILD (published)

if God was my child
I’d bring her to the
five and dime store
Just to see what she would buy.
I’d give her a dollar.
She’d race to the counter
where the crayons, acrylics
and clay are.

Then, on gray, rainy days
she’d sit by the window
and worlds would rise,
stars appear,
Smiling lavender worlds,
Shimmering silver stars
in raspberry, aqua skies
and rainbows!
Oh! Yes!
regal rainbows!
