10 – JAZZMAN

Jesus played Jewish Jazz
while the shofar called the faithful
but what do you do with clumsy feet
and you can’t feel the beat,
the old horns blaring in the background

so, they came intriguing:
“His melody’s awkward.”
“I can’t sing his words”
“So what do we do with this
Jazzman from Nazareth?”
“Nazareth yet! Nothing good comes out of Nazareth”
“He doesn’t want to play in our club”
“He’ll never jam in Jerusalem”
“What’ll we do if he opens
his own place?”
“We’ll
cross
that bridge
if he comes to it”
